Can I upload a file with hashed email addresses to ZUVO Protect?
ZUVO Protect cannot process files containing hashed (rather than plaintext) email addresses.
Meaningful email validation requires analyzing the actual contents of the address — the domain, the username portion, and other characteristics — to accurately assess deliverability and risk. Simple list-matching against a hash works fine for a basic hygiene provider, but ZUVO Protect's validation goes beyond that, and hashing removes the information needed to do it.
This limitation is specific to ZUVO Protect scans. Data Appends can sometimes work with hashed emails, but only if we know exactly how the hash was created — contact your account team for the required details.
